Memory's Door
"Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory."
--Susan B. Anthony |

We often make a big deal over things that end up being of minimal importance. Why is that? Undoubtedly, we are impressed by life's milestones that are filled with drama, tragedy and triumph. Who wouldn't celebrate graduating from college, a big promotion, getting married, or buying a new house? But the things that really matter, are the small events and decisions that influence the trend of our lives--that determine where we are ultimately headed.
If we're willing to "sweat the small stuff" on a daily basis, memory's door will always welcome reunions with past moments well lived.
